Choi Yeon-Ja
Abstract
This thesis researched and analyzed the difference of the beliefs about psychiatric nursing among freshman who takes no lesson about it, sophomore who has finished only theory, and junior who has completed both theory and clinical training. The number of them was 206 and such methods as Pearson correlation, ANOVA and T-test were used in data analysis.
The results are as follows:
1. The belief which had the hight mean was that of psychotherapist/counselor, whose mean was 29-freshman, 30-sophomore and 31 junior.
2. In case of freshman the correlation of psychiatric nursing between that of medical model and that of community mental health was p < .001. In sophomore the correlation among that of milieu therapy, that of psychotherapist/counselor and that of community mental health was p < .001. In junior the correlation between that of psychotherapist/ counselor and that of community mental health was p < .01.
3. According to ANOVA, the degrees of influence on the beliefs about psychiatric nursing through education are as follows:
(1) The degree of influence on medical model belief by education was p < .001, which showed a great difference.
(2) That of influence on milieu therapy belief was p X05 which showed no great difference.
(3) That of influence on psychotherapist/counselor belief was p > .05, which showed no great difference, but there was a great difference among pairs of groups (p < .05).
(4) That of influence on community mental health belief was p > .05 which showed no great difference, but there was a great difference among pairs of groups (p < .05).
